MJCI-Shalom exists to strengthen the voice of the voiceless

MJCI-Shalom exists to strengthen the voice of the voiceless; the young people and those living in miserable conditions of life (in need) especially those in rural community in Rwanda.

MJCI-Shalom exists to strengthen the voice of the voiceless; the young people and those living in miserable conditions of life (in need) especially those in rural community in Rwanda. It was established in 2008 by The Hareleust’s family. Together MJCI-Shalom and its members are jointly working for persons from 2008 to enjoy the equal rights to which they are entitled.

MJCI-Shalom is legally registered and allowed to work in Rwanda. It has the legal personality no120/11 of 3 September 2008 and its compliance with new law no06/2012 of 17/02/2012. For now, MJCI-Shalom counts around 8900 direct participants in its projects’ activities that are grouped in 21 farming groups, 168 saving groups, Shalom Vocational Training Center, Children Ministry and all these embodied in peace and conflict management trainings. MJCI-Shalom is committed to serve the community especially those in need from the village.

We have achieved a lot compared to our capacity and we hope to achieve more with many other people that are committed to serve the community in need. With a great pleasure, MJCI-Shalom was blessed to celebrate our achievements with the single mothers that are following Shalom Vocational Training Center programs and children that are in savings program in Mugina as all of them and their families were supported with Health Insurance.

The participants of this school attend six hours a day for four days a week learning tailoring, haircuts and hair dressing. MJCI-Shalom pays two facilitators and cares much about their health as they attend the school and spend their time here. This is why MJCI-Shalom pays their yearly Health Insurance. Every student, her child and whole family get Health Insurance; and their facilitators as well get this insurance.

MJCI-Shalom recognizes the donation of $1053 in December 2024 from different sources namely St Mark’s Presbyterian Church, Don Mills, Rebecca Sanford’s family, The Hermanns’ family and prayers from MJCI-Shalom’s friends namely April Roebuck and Pastor Latonya Agard, Jeff Ullman, Micah Metts-Houston, Greg LaMastro and others. This was an impressive donation that MJCI-Shalom received and was used in paying health insurance to 334 people belonging to 84 households (most of them belonging to the single Moms that are from Shalom Vocational Training Center and from the children that belong to MJCI-Shalom Children Ministry).

Dear all, thank you so much for supporting MJCI-Shalom with continuous prayers and financial support as we serve the community in need from the village of Kamonyi district of Rwanda. May God bless you and we pray we keep in touch as we both are serving God’s people. We hope to continue proclaiming the gospel together in words and actions. We take this opportunity to invite you to Rwanda and see what MJCI-Shalom is doing with and for the community; we will be glad showing you around when you visit Rwanda in the future.

In Shalom Vocational Training Center, we are inclusive and supportive as well. The first picture shows a pregnant single lady part of the program. And, the second picture shows children that are part of MJCI-Shalom’s saving group. They also got the health insurance with their families.

May God Bless you
